Summer School 2003
Biophotonics and Applications of Biophotons
"Again it is a great pleasure to attend the lectures in the IIB and to get in touch with many interesting applications and new approaches in the biophotonic phenomena. Also, the opportunity to meet people and discuss what could be developed."
Cristiano M. Gallep, DMO-FEEC-Unicamp / Brazil
"I'm very happy to come here. I think that biophoton will be a very important topic in future. I thank to F.A. popp and everyone"
Yang Joon-Mo, SNU, Seoul, Korea
"It is my first time attending the lectures in the IIB. I became very impressed by the new ideas presented, their practical applications and by the friendly, outstanding scientific environment I met here. Biophotonics is slowly changing, for a broader and holistic view, the way we see biological phenomena. I hope I can come more often."
Rafael Couto Melsert - Rio de Janeiro - Brazil
"I am absolutely thrilled with the lectures and the fascinating work which is going on here , although I am here for the first time I had a lot of questions answered, I am sure it will not be the last time for me to attend. Good luck and all the best."
Rainer Hack, New Zealand
"As the hours progressed I went from a coherent to an incoherent state and back again depending on the proximity of certain lecturers J It has been a great week, I have learnt much and had my interest in the true nature of science rekindled. Also a joy to be involved in many thought provoking discussions, both with lecturers and students, regarding the nature of reality and our place in it via the central concept of biophotons, those mysterious creatures!"
Bridget Henderson, Oxford, England
Aside from the most valuable spectrum of lectures on biophotons and biological quantum coherence, the Summer School provided a collegial atmosphere wherein all ideas were shared freely, whether they fit into the prevalent scientific paradigm or into alternative ways of viewing our most incredible universe within and without.
-Brent Stewart, USA
"It was a tremendous inspiring and enlightening week ! Thanks to the assembly (speakers and attendees), such an immersion was a privilege and will definitely leave its mark on us all. I hope that it will trigger new researches and perhaps orient new destinies. Many thanks to Prof. Popp and his team. A grateful thought to the pioneers."
Arnauld Menager, France
"Such a privilege to spend a week studying with the pioneers in this fascinating field I've learnt so much - wouldn't have missed it for the world! Thanks so much."
Gilian Crowther, England
"Love is the only fertilizer in the field of LIFE. (SSS)
You can feel this on the Island Hombroich, where was the 3rd Summer school on Application of Biophotons.
Looking for truth of Live is the only way to be happy in this world.
Activities of the Summer school gave me the true food for my soul."
Stanka Koren, Slovenia
"Now I have a clear view about the theoretical and experimental researches on biophotons. It leads to exciting new possibilities to investigate the living.
I really like the interaction between all the participants.
During this week we were really concentrated on this subject, and we learned a lot one from the other.
In a word it was a pleasure to be here. See you next year."
Amodsen Chotia, France
"The species of daphnia in a cuvette near to each other with a comfortable distance to themselves seem to establish a silent communication by light. Maybe something similar happens beyond the vividly discussions and deep thinking within a population of biophotonicists put together within the area of IIB. Regarding myself as a macroscopic quantum resonator many of the modes inside me came into the active state. I am very glad of having been here and hope to come again."
Susanne Schoofs, Germany
