1.2. Locations
The Dutch Research Group, participating in the IIB is working at
the IIB-Neuss location and two other places. The main location is
the IIB Institute in Neuss (Roeland Van Wijk, Rafael Gaya Moreno,
and Eduard Van Wijk). The second location is at the Department of
Molecular Cell Biology, Utrecht University, The Netherlands (Roeland
Van Wijk and Elida Boon), the third at MeLuNa, Hilversum, The Netherlands
(Roeland Van Wijk, Jan Souren, and Eduard Van Wijk)
1.3. Activities
At the IIB-Neuss the faculities for biophoton measurements are
used for basic experimental research in two araes :
- Mechanism of biophoton emission of animal and plant cells, in
particular the relationship between delayed luminescence and coherence
of biological domains.
- Imaging biophoton emission from organisms, including humans,
using the available whole-body counting-biophoton equipment.
At the Department of Molecular Cell Biology, Utrecht Univesity,
the facilities for high-quality (video) microscopy are used for :
- Imaging of intracellular dynamics of cell organelles.
- Developments of methods for quantification of coherent biological
domains.
At MeLuNa, Hilversum one biophoton equipment is available for two
areas of research :
- Delayed luminescence of natural products in relation to biological
quality.
- Influence of consciousness on biophoton fields of organisms

Wijk
Born in 1942 in The Netherlands, Degree in Biology (1965, Utrecht
University), specialisms Biophysical Chemistry and Molecular Biology.
Received Ph.D. in 1968 with his thesis on ‘Alpha-Glucosidase Synthesis,
Respiratory Enzymes and Catabolite Repression in Yeast’. Senior
scientist and Assistant Professor at the Utrecht University, Department
of Molecular Cell Biology. Visiting scientist at several research
institutes (1971/72 : Jewish Hospital and Research Center,
Denver ; 1976 : University of Colorado, Denver ;
1982 : Friedrich Miescher Institute, Basel ; since 1982 :
scientific collaboration on biophoton research with Fritz-Albert
Popp). Head of the Research Unit for Complimentary Medicin (Utrecht
University) in 1985-1995.

Early Development. Received her Ph.D. in 1987 with a thesis on ‘Influence
of stress on early development of Limnaea stagnalis’

Received his Ph.D. in 1993 with a thesis on ‘Mammalian Cells in
a Collagen Type-1 Microenvironment. 1993-1999 Post doc researcher
at the Department of Molecular Cell Biology, section Gene Expression
and Stress Research.
